The Munk One “Dream Beautiful and Unusual” show opening on Oct 1st 2009 at Fifty24PDX Gallery in Portland went really well. The lighting in the gallery included a couple of black lights to charge the glow paint in daylight. I was worried that the room would either be too dark or too light, but after messing with the lights for a while it all worked out and the glow coming from the art was still visible. The “glow in the dark” stickers went really fast, during the show I was thinking I should have made 2k instead of just 1k. That night I finally got to meet the artist Above. What’s funny about that, is we know many of the same people and have heard about each other for years but we had never met in person until that night. I also met many other nice people including Artist Emek who stopped by to check out the art. As always the Upper Playground crew was really helpful and over all a great group of people. Thanks to everyone who made it out that night and especially everyone who helped make it all possible.
